Dear Parents and Carers

We have had a very busy and full year. It’s been lovely to see our award winners celebrated over the past week and to farewell our Year 12s at their Valedictory service – we wish them every blessing and success as they depart Calvary. There are quite a lot of notices in this communication, and I would particularly ask 7-10 parents to check whether they have submitted their 2024 camp forms (camp is Week 4 of Term 1). Our students have some fun end of year events next week (please also remember to hit approve on Parent Lounge for your child to attend Bounce on the last day of term).

Our 2023 MSS Facebook page will be archived in the next few weeks and you will be invited to transition across to our new 2024 page. Please join us on Facebook as this is the easiest way to disseminate the thousands of photos we take each year of life at Calvary.

The College’s Drought Angels appeal concludes this weekend, furniture and other goods donations will be collected this Saturday morning from the Carbrook campus at 8:00am in the western carpark and from the Springwood campus from the church carpark (front of the church) from 10:30am.

Year 7 - 10 Camps 2024

The relevant Wellbeing Leaders would have contacted parents to complete the required forms for the 2024 camps taking place from 14 - 16 February 2024. It would be greatly appreciated if parents/carers can complete these and return them as directed by Friday 24 November 2023. This will help reduce the amount of administrative tasks parents will face at what is always a busy start of the school year.

Please note that if your child requires prescription medication you will need to complete the relevant Forms below and ensure that all medication is labelled and handed to the health Hub by 7 February 2024:

End of Term Information

On the last day of the school year and Term 4, 1 December 2023, The Middle and Senior School students will have their final MSS Assembly before traveling to Bounce for 2 hours of fun! The year 7 - 9 students will travel to Bounce Macgregor and the year 10 - 11 students will travel to Bounce Tingalpa. As we will be traveling to or enjoying activities at Bounce during the normal school break times students who normally order/purchase food from the Mango Cafe will need to purchase food and/or drinks from Bounce.

Please take note of the following arrangements for students to enjoy their time at Bounce:

  1. Parents will need to accept the invite on the Parent Portal by Friday the 24th of November 2023.
  2. Students will be required to wear their Calvary sports uniform.
  3. Students can purchase food and drinks at Bounce as we will be away during normal break times.

Free Dress Day

As is our tradition we will be having a Christmas Themed Free Dress day on Thursday the 30 of November 2023 (and not the last day of term) for a gold donation for staff and students. The funds raised will be used to support the Children of Compassion. Students are encouraged to dress to theme as there will be a parade for staff and students to celebrate their wonderful Christmas outfits during second break.

Please adhere to the following free dress guidelines:

  • Shorts should reach to just above the knees and cannot be shorter than mid-thigh.
  • Students may not colour their hair except as in the Uniform Policy.
  • Students may not wear make-up .
  • Stomach regions should not be exposed.
  • Students should wear a t-shirt or equivalent. No bare midriffs, low necklines, singlets or strappy tops.
  • Practical closed shoes to be worn that do not impede the ability of students to participate in class or scheduled activities.
  • Students must wear respectable tops (clothing that has negative slogans or images will not be permitted)
