Dear Parents and Carers,

Well, we are getting close to our first Chitty Chitty Bang Bang performance, and we cannot wait to show our community the talent and teamwork of our students. These spaces where our students truly stretch into their gifts; sporting events, performing arts, competitions for our clubs – all demonstrate their growing confidence, resilience and independence. We are so proud of the achievement and progress of every child.

Semester Reports

Junior School student's Semester 1 Reports will be available on the Parent Portal, at the end of Week 1 of Term 3, on Friday 14 July after 5.00pm. Further information about the Report formats will be in next week's Communications.

Parent Teacher Interviews

We will be holding Parent Teacher Interviews in Week 2 of Term 3, Tuesday 18 July and Thursday 20 July from 3.30pm to 7.00pm next semester. This is a valuable opportunity for you to discuss your child’s learning and co-construct some goals on where to next. Interview times are made by accessing the College Website or App. Bookings will be open tomorrow afternoon, from 3.00pm, and will close midnight Sunday 16 July.  Further information can be found via the link below.

Readers Cup Challenge

Next Tuesday a team of avid readers are taking part in the South Brisbane Readers Cup. These students have worked with Mrs Wong for many weeks, reading the set titles and working their comprehension skills to put together a presentation and be prepared to compete against 30 other schools. We wish you well!

Musical Update

With so many students involved, we decided yesterday that all the base costumes for students will be sent home with them today. For each performance over Friday and Saturday, please send children dressed in their full base costume; black shoes and socks, black leggings and white t-shirt, and they can wear their musical t-shirt over the top to protect it until we are ready to get hair, make up and costumes happening.

Thank you to every parent for your patience and support to our volunteers.

Tickets to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang can be purchased here:  Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Tickets

Free Dress Day

On our final day of term will be a free dress day with the theme “pyjama day”. Free dress day rules and expectations still apply, please send students with a hat, closed in shoes and layers that can be taken off as they warm up throughout the day. We ask that students bring a gold coin donation to support our compassion students.

Stage 1, 2 & 3 EXPO

Our Stage 1, 2 & 3 students will be showcasing their work in week 9. We look forward to sharing with parents and families on Wednesday 14 June. Please see attached flyers for times.

Real Life Christian Church has an awesome children’s ministry called Kidslife. We are running a Movie Night over the coming holidays and we wanted to invite your young person along and give you an opportunity to register them for the evening!

The Movie Night will be held on Saturday, the 24th of June from 5:30-8pm, and will just be $5 as we'll provide some dinner in the form of pizza! And I didn't even mention the best part, we want to give you, the parents, a night off. Have a Date Night, have a quiet night in, and we'll hang out with and feed your children while you rest up after what I'm aware was a huge term!

The link below will let you register for the event! Please share this event around, and encourage your kids to invite their friends along, as this will be a great opportunity to further connect our Calvary and Real Life family!
