Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been another busy and dynamic week in the Junior School. Assessment is something that happens continuously throughout the year as teachers monitor the growth of each student. Our teachers are busy using all this evidence to write reports that should give you further insight into your child’s learning journey. Many of our students are working on inquiry projects around our theme of Sustainability. From endangered animals to weather events that impact communities, our learners are considering their impact and footprint on the globe and how they can contribute to a better future. I encourage you to ask your child what they are learning about, and how they have shown learning stretch today?

Uniforms

The way we wear our uniforms is important as we value the way we present ourselves. Please be reminded on the uniform expectations, as listed in the parent manual and also attached here for your reference.

Bookfair

Last week, the Bookfair came to the LIC. We sold approximately $5000 worth of books and resources which means the Carbrook Junior School will receive up to $1500 and hundreds of Scholastic points to spend on new resources. This is amazing! Thank you for supporting both Book Fair and the Scholastic Book Club.

Stage 2-3 Athletics Carnival

Monday 29 May, Springwood and Carbrook campuses will be joining together for the Stage 2 and 3 Athletics day. Parents, family and friends are warmly invited to join us, as spectators or volunteers, please see all the information below.

Musical Update

The musical is only weeks away. Full day rehearsals are underway and we can not wait to showcase all the hard work the students (and staff) have placed into their performance. Please ensure you book your tickets to see the combined efforts of our Junior School campuses.

Stepping up to Year 7

Last Thursday, Mr Wilson spent the afternoon sharing what opportunities are available in the Middle and Senior School. It was wonderful to see so many of our families engaging in how they can continue to support their child as they take the next big step in their schooling journey. If you missed this event and would like further information, please contact the school.
